Our jewelry is being crafted from solid 18-karat yellow gold. For newcomers in this business I will explain what 18-karat gold really means in this article.
In most countries, people use the term karat to state gold’s fineness, which is based on parts out of 24. This means that pure gold is 24 parts gold – or 24-karat gold.
Gold that’s 75% pure – 18 parts are gold and six parts are alloying metal or metals. This makes it 18-karat gold. You will often see gold jewelry stamped 18K. Don’t confuse ‘karat’ with the term ‘carat’, a measure of gem weight, for example diamonds.
Increasing the percentages of other metals in gold alloys can result in customized color. Varying amounts of copper can give gold a rose or even reddish color. Increasing the silver in a gold alloy can give it a green color. Nickel and palladium can whiten it.
Ingredients of our gold alloy, which make it yellow, are gold, copper, silver and zinc. Alloying gold increases its tensile strength and hardness and can also make it extremely durable. Because of its hardness, alloyed gold can take on very high polish.
Our 18-karat gold collection takes a high polish in the production process and stands out with a beautiful luster, which is also appealing and exciting to the eye. Clear lines and bold designs work perfectly together with a precious metal like gold.
Precious metals can be formed into intricate designs that are strong and retain their shape. With care, gold lasts many generations and in most times keeps or even increases its value. I believe that owning fine jewelry is not only a fashion statement but also a secure investment.
The HER. fine jewelry gold collection is designed to last forever as surfaces are easy to clean and polish, making them life-long fashion companions.
